first real snow

Today was the first day I actually felt that Christmas is coming.
Kate and I started that chilly wednesday with a Cappuccino at our favourite coffeeshop with the best but at the same time cheapest coffee in Seoul.

Then we walked about 15 minutes to the Jangnyeongsi Herbal market and strolled around that huge market area. They sell vegetables, fruites, fish and meat, already prepared food like all different sorts of Kimchi, herbes and spicery. Booth owners sit with their friends and/or competitors together and have lunch. The smell changed at every corner and the hustle and bustle didn't seem to distract people from their intentions.

A couple of days ago Philip, Kate and I decided to eat dog, just because we were curious and didn't want to miss this cultural experience. Why eating a pig or a cow but not a dog...seems canting!
So we asked a bunch of Korean friends to find a restaurant that serves dogmeat. Their reaction was everytime the same: they looked appalled and surprised. That's because nowadays nobody, at least here in Korea, is actually eating dog anymore...except the elder generation.
We always stuck to our intent.....well until today. We were told that they raise special dogs to eat, that they wouldn't cook any pet-dogs. Unfortunately Kate and I had to see a cage with fluffy, poor pet-dogs next to a freezer stuffed with doglegs. That was really, really traumatic for me....dogmeat dinner is cancelled!

And now to the awesome news....while we were strolling around it started snowing. Not just a few flakes but really big ones. Kate and I couldn't wipe off the brig grins in our faces for the whole way back home.
I love snow!!!
