pigheads for everyone

Unfortunately we didn't find any pigheads on that 2nd of November but had a wonderul view over Seoul in the sunshine!

Lonely Planat recommended to do the "Shamanist hillside walk" up the Inwangsan, the weather was awesome and I already decided to skip class when I woke up in the morning. So there we were, on the walking tour to find some shamanes dancing round pigheads. I guess shamanes are working too...no pigeads, no dancing, no singing. But we found some shamanist shrines, small temples and walked along the newly renovated fortress wall. We paused at the Seonbawi, the zen rock, to watch some shamanes praying for their (unborn) children, quietly. We sunbathed on the summit of the "White Tiger Mountain" and enjoyed the spiritual atmosphere at surrounded us.

At the end of the walk one can find the Seodaemun prison, build in 1908 by Japanese during their colonial rule of Korea. This place of torture and execution was build for 500 prisoners but at peak times packed with over 3500. Women were kept in underground cells not higher than 1,50m so they wouldn't be able to stand. Most of the prosioners were students that rebeled against the Japanese occupation and over 500 died suffering the Japanese cruelty. Sad!
