daylife - nightlife
A normal weekday is pretty normal and same as in Austria. We go to classes and gym, do homework and researches for our weekend trips, keep in contact with people at home (skype, facebook, blog), have dinner at one of the numerous and delicious restaurants around the campus and finally at times have a beer on Stephs rooftop or meet anyone of the buddys to have fun Korean style.Sometimes there is even time to explore Seoul.
Weekends are much cooler and more exciting. If you ask me, I prefer weekends!
Cause that are the days when we actually have time to explore Seoul, do trips throughout the country and enjoy our life at this wonderful spot.
And also there's a lot of party going on. Around campus, but there are better places to go. For instance Hongdae, an area around another University with plenty restaurants, shops, bars, clubs and Noraebangs (karaoke). Normally we drink maekchu (beer), remon soju (lemon soju) - my favourite, but they have soju with almost any flavour you can think of - and somaek (mix of soju and beer). In Korea it's common to eat while getting drunk, which makes it more difficult to get drunk but you can definately party longer this way. Koreans have noddle soup, seafood soup, chips and other deep-fried food with their drinks....so we have it too, just to assimilate of course. ;)
friends
Seoul is fun! But it's even more fun spending days/nights here with nice people...and I already found some.Bettina
We're sharing pretty much everything....room, food, classes, etc. Actually she's from the same university in Salzburg and is doing the same program as I do. So we thought it could be fun living at the same place. As they had no single rooms left, we just took a double. This was the best decision ever, because rooms are so tiny here and the double rooms are quite large for Korea. First we were thinking about changing rooms later....but it turned out to be nice to stay together. Whenever were seperated because we meet other people, went to gym or shopping we meet at home and can share our experiences right away. There's always someone to share thoughts with, make plans or just talk to. And I just like to stay in the same room doing different things while talking to each other.Maybe it's just because I'm so bad at beeing alone...anyway I appreciate her company, even though I'm the tidy one of us. ;)
the team
Kate, Steph, Philip and me, that's the team so far. Whatever will change we will be the core team. We just like hanging out together, having dinner, soju (yam schnaps) and beer or watching a movie. We're all totaly different but getting along so great.Kate's from the States and is a pro concerning (korean) food. I just love to make all the trip planning with her because she is as much interested in getting around as I am.
Steph's a Frenchwoman...you know what that means! She has the coolest accomodation in Seoul and we just love the rooftop partys at her place. She is the most honest person I ever met and she is our partyqueen. She is the one you meet at afternoon totally wasted and swearing not partying that night again but then find out the next day she did it again ....just love her!
Philip is the cock, he's denish and has very much to laugh about...maybe it's because of us girls, who knows! A nice guy who's up for anything!
Actually I don't like them all because their classes start at noon...but their good looking so I hang out with them. ;)

Crimson House
There are a lot of fun people in Crimson House, where I live. Ylla from Sweden, Martin from Germany and half-korean, Kaori from Japan, etc. It's so good having people around to have coffee with or just meet whenever your going to the (communal) bathroom. We also have our secret wave or handshake...you can see it perfectly on the picture.

KUBA
This is a program from Korea University. There a plenty of open-minded Korean's who joint this program to make friends with people from abroad and are now our buddys. They help us with everything, take care of us and have lots of fun and party with us.Actually everyone has one buddy, but as they are all so nice and we meet others too we actually have more than just one buddy. Most of them have english names to make it easier for us to call them. Isn't that nice?
