KU, CH & the neighborhood

Neighborhood
The place I live in is rather quiet and concerning housing quite expensive.
Dongdaemun-gu (where my Goshiwon is = small room is located) and Seongbuk-gu (district where my university is) are right next to each other, so I just have to cross the street to get to my university (which I appreciate cause I can sleep longer). They're located in the north-east of Seoul, not far from the city center. It takes me about 15-25 minutes to get there by subway (which is a 5 minute walk from my Goshiwon). And the airport limousine shuttle bus stop is also arround the corner.

There is also a place (about 10 minutes from me), called Anam, where there are lots of restaurants and bars.
I got a huge supermarket (Tesco or here Homeplus) a few busstops from me and one of the numerous marekts of Seoul, called Yangnyeongsi, that is specialized in medicinal herb materials for Korean traditional medical treatment. But one can find every possible sort of rice, fish and seafood, fruits as well as strange looking things (one would better not imagine what their for).

Crimson House
My home is my castle...or a small room, but as I share rooms with Betti our room actually is not that small and at least we have a window which is not necessary normal here in Korea.
Everything is very simple in Crimson House, we don't have a kitchen (just boiled water in the corridors), just common bathrooms, you have to pay for the washing maschine and there is no common room (just a "lounge" at the entrance consisting of 2 chairs). But we have a nice rooftop from where you can see the campus and can have BBQ. And corridors are monitored 24/7, but at least we are allowed to have visitors till 11pm. I know that sounds horrible, but it's not at all. And as I go out a lot and the restaurants are very cheap (meal between 2-4€) it's no problem at all to live here. Actually I like it.

Korea University (고려대학교; 高麗大學校)
is a private institution and a member of the SKY universities (the three most prestigious universities in South Korea: Seoul National Univ., Korea Univ., Yonsei Univ.). Founded by Lee Yong-ik in 1905, the school moved and was enlarged several times. It is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in South Korea ranked 191th in the world in 2010.
Admission is highly competitive and decisions are based on scores in the South Korean College Scholastic Ability Test every Korean has to pass if he wants to go to university. It is said that pupils learn day and night for a year or longer to get high scores to get admission to one of the SKY universities.
The student body consists of over 17,000 undergraduate and 6,000 graduate students. The university’s academic breadth is extensive with its 56 departments.
Campus, located at the foot of a hill, is huge - containing cafeterias, shops (such as shoemaker, telecommunication, electronic, coiffeur, ect), a female area to study, chat and sleep (they even got a make up room and beds!!!), libaries, study halls, a hospital, dormitory, gyms, an ice rink (yeah I know pretty cool!), sports grounds, etc.
Our mascot is a tiger, as you can see on the seal.
main entrance
On campus are always people, also during the night cause some students study very hard. And there are plenty of performances on campus going on all year such as concerts, dancing, etc. In the evenings you can follow basketball matches or gaze at the lovely lighted buildings.
